1 Killed When Crane Truck Topples Over in Downtown Dallas

One unidentified person was killed this afternoon when a truck hauling a crane flipped over in downtown Dallas. Another person was injured.

The incident happened at about 2:45 p.m. at 1700 Arts Plaza near Ross Avenue, near Highway 75.

The truck is reportedly owned by RMCI Construction. Exactly what caused the flip is unclear at this moment. Reports stated that the truck was set up and stabilized at the time of the incident, and that high winds may have played a factor.

Complicating investigation into the incident was that the crane fell on a large generator next to a wire fence. Fire officials were afraid that removing the crane would start the generator back up and electrify the fence.
