All of the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 were closed down Monday after an 18-wheeler crashed and became engulfed in flames just outside Temple, Texas.
According to police, the wreck took place at about 5:19 a.m. No statement was given on the exact cause of the wreck, but it appears that only the large commercial truck was involved.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was injured and transported to Baylor Scott & White. The extent of his or her injuries are unknown.
To clean up the area, officials brought in a hazmat team. Cleanup and investigation of the wreck caused traffic delays of about 30 minutes.
