18-Year-Old Killed, 2 Hospitalized in 18-Wheeler Wreck

An 18-year-old was killed early Monday when the car he was in crashed into an 18-wheeler. The incident occurred on US Highway 59 near George West Street in Corpus Christi, Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver of the 18-wheeler had driven in the wrong direction and decided to make a U-turn on the highway. While making this turn, a car struck the trailer of the 18-wheeler.

There were reportedly two people inside the car. The 18-year-old male passenger of the car was killed in the collision. The driver of the car and the driver of the 18-wheeler were both hospitalized. The severity of their injuries is not known, as a police report has not officially released. The name of the deceased 18-year-old has also been withheld. Police have not stated whether they plan to file any charges against either driver. It is also unknown whether any other factors, such as speeding, contributed to the crash.
