Alcohol A Factor In 30% Of 2015 Travis County Car Crashes

The number of alcohol related fatal accidents in Central Texas continues to climb. In the last five years, fatal drunk driving car crashes in Central Texas have increased by 19%, with 63 fatal car crashes last year. Travis County alone accounted for 43 of the deadly crashes last year. Looking more broadly, alcohol plays a significant role in all fatal and non-fatal car crashes in Central Texas collisions, with alcohol playing a role in 30% of all Travis County car crashes, 41% in Hayes County, and $30.95% in Williamson County.
