27-year-old Andrew Olen Pierce died on Tuesday after his Jeep ran into an 18-wheeler truck on Highway 26 outside of Poplarville, Mississippi.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash took place at about 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of CJ Seals Road and Highway 26.
Pierce was reportedly driving east when he crossed over the center line, entering the westbound lanes where the 18-wheeler was driving. Pierce was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He was not wearing a seatbelt according to police.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, William Simmons, 52, did not appear to suffer any injuries, and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
