The wreck took place on Highway 32 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi, where the ambulance was heading west. An eastbound car reportedly slowed down quickly in front of the eastbound 18-wheeler , causing the large truck to swerve out of the way and into the westbound lanes of the road. When the truck swerved it collided head-on with the ambulance.

No injuries were reported for the driver of the 18-wheeler. An investigation into the cause of the accident has not yet been completed.
