Fatality Reported in Florida Crash Between 2 Tractor-Trailers

The driver of an 18-wheeler was killed this morning after a crash on U.S. Highway 27 near Clewiston, Florida.

Reports indicate that the crash was a rear-end collision between two semi trucks near the intersection between Charlie Miner Memorial Highway and County Road 720. One of the large trucks was hauling trash, which set on fire after the crash.

Debris and trash was strewn across the roadway after the crash, causing the highway to be shut down for several hours.

The names of the drivers involved have not yet been released, and officials have not indicated which driver was killed. The driver of the truck hauling trash apparently was not injured in the crash.
