Fatigue to Blame for 18-Wheeler Crashing into Greensboro Home

Officials with the Greensboro Police Department stated today that driver fatigue was to blame for an 18-wheeler truck crashing into a home Monday morning.

According to police, Gene Drake, 44, either fell asleep or became drowsy when he drove his truck over a median on US Highway 29 and smashed through a vacant home in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Drake suffered minor injuries and was transported to Moses Cone Hospital for treatment. No one else was injured in the incident.

Police are charging Drake with failure to maintain a lane.
