Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck

A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning in Pflugerville, Texas when he crashed into a semi-truck trailer.

The unidentified man, believed to be in his 40s, died after crashing into the back of the semi-truck. The truck was pulling out of a private driveway and did not see the motorcycle. The driver stated that both heavy fog and a surrounding construction zone both contributed to the crash. The Pflugerville Police Chief, commenting on the situation, stated that there was only about 150 feet of visibility in any direction.

The owner of the trucking company, Edwin Ramirez, said he wished that the city would shut down that whole road while the construction continues, as local residents have voiced numerous complaints regarding the danger of the road that includes a blind curve. Increased traffic volume has also led the City of Pflugerville to review that particular intersection for safety measures.
