Houston Semi Truck Falls off Highway Ramp, Explodes

A truck driver was killed Wednesday morning after losing control of his truck on a Houston highway. According to police, the unidentified driver was driving a truck hauling alcoholic beverages up a highway ramp from US Highway 59 to Loop 610, when he lost control of the truck and fell from the ramp, landing below on the Eastex Freeway. The truck then caught fire.

The 28-year-old truck driver has not yet been identified. No other people were injured as a result of the accident.

It is not yet clear why the driver lost control of his truck. Though the investigation is ongoing, police stated that the driver was going too fast on the ramp.

All northbound lanes were blocked off for several hours while the scene was investigated and cleared up.
