Fred F. Anderson, 63, was killed early Tuesday morning when his semi-truck ran off the road and crashed in a lower embankment in Wichita, Kansas.
According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, Anderson’s semi-truck failed to navigate a curve on Interstate 35 and crashed through a guardrail, eventually bursting into flames at the bottom of an embankment.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. No other vehicles were involved other than the truck. It is unclear if there were any contributing factors such as road surface or driver fatigue.
Reports from nearby witnesses state that it was the second accident involving a large truck in 5 days.
