A 21-year-old man was killed Wednesday when his Honda Civic sedan crashed into the back of a garbage truck as it backed out into a street. Spencer Monroe was driving near Koenig Lane and Woodrow Avenue when the crash occurred. Police reported that he died at the scene.
The privately-owned garbage truck was reportedly picking up trash at 3:20 a.m. when the crash occurred. No details have been given by police as to whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the wreck, or whether speed was a factor. Police have not yet released any information as to whether either party was at fault for the wreck.
