Two Killed After Vehicle Hits 2 Tractor-Trailers

Two individuals were killed yesterday after a crash involving a car and two different tractor-trailers.

The wreck occurred on Highway 70 in Iredell County, North Carolina. According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, a car was first involved in a hit-and-run when it hit the first large truck on I-70 near Triplett Road. The driver kept going westbound after this crash, and soon afterwards jumped the median of the highway and struck a second 18-wheeler at an angle.

The driver of the second truck stated that there was nothing he could do and didn’t have time to react.

The man and woman inside the passenger vehicle were both killed at the scene. The passenger side of the car was crushed inwards towards the driver’s side.

The driver of the large commercial truck was not reportedly injured, and will not face any charges as a result of this crash.
