William Hansen Jr., 60, Killed in 18-Wheeler Accident

A truck driver was killed early Tuesday in a collision between two 18-wheeler trucks.

William A. Hansen Jr., 60, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders at 4:44 a.m.. The crash occurred at about 3:20 a.m. on Interstate 55 near Route 55 in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook, Illinois.

Details are unclear as to how the crash occurred. The driver of the second truck, who has not yet been identified, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The wreck shut down all of the northbound lanes on the interstate for several hours. By 7:30 a.m. only one lane had reopened.
